3 Fun & Flexible Music Activities
to End the School Year
The countdown to summer is on, and if you’re anything like me, you’re looking for ways to keep your students engaged, reflective, and having fun—without creating hours of prep for yourself.
That’s where these three tried-and-true end-of-year activities come in. If you’ve been following along on the blog or Instagram, you’ve probably seen these featured before—and for good reason! They’re low-prep, high-engagement, and perfect for that final stretch of the school year.
☀️ 1. EOY Bingo Cards – A Favorite Repeat from the Start of Summer Prep
If you loved our earlier post on Back-to-School Musical Bingo, then you’ll love this end-of-year twist!
The EOY Bingo Cards are a fun, reflective activity where students revisit the concepts they’ve learned and the memories they’ve made in music class. Use it as a full-class movement activity, a desk-based worksheet, or even a fast finisher game.
🎉 Already used it earlier in the year? Use a few of the same prompts and add a few personalized ones to make it year-end specific.
🛒 You can find the EOY Bingo Cards in the Teach from the Stage Shop.
🎶 2. Last Day of Music Task Cards – Reflect on a Year of Growth
These reflection task cards were featured as part of our year-end cleanup and planning strategy—and for good reason. They double as a reflection tool and an informal assessment opportunity.
Each task encourages students to think about what they’ve learned, how they’ve grown, and what they’ve enjoyed most. They’re also great to include in your photocopy crate if you followed our end-of-year organization tip!
📝 Tip: Print these now and save extras in your filing system—future you will thank you.
🎯 Find them in the shop or bundle with other end-of-year activities.
🎵 3. Musical Choice Boards – A Fan-Favorite Freebie
We highlighted these Music Choice Boards in a full blog post last month because they’re one of the most versatile resources for any time of year—but especially now.
Available in both lower and upper elementary versions, these boards offer review activities that students can complete independently, in pairs, or even at home for enrichment. They’re perfect for:
- Sub plans
- Independent stations
- Early finisher activities
- Distance learning backups
🎁 Grab the free choice boards here and add them to your go-to toolkit!
🎯 Why These End-of-Year Activities Work
- ✔️ Minimal prep during a hectic time of year
- ✔️ Promote reflection, review, and fun
- ✔️ Support both individual and group work
- ✔️ Create space for students to celebrate their musical growth
Each activity has been featured on the blog or in my teaching toolkit for years because they really work. No fluff—just flexible, impactful ideas that help you end the year on a strong note.
